We have developed the Laser Surface Texturing (LST) system which dramatically improves the performance of lubricated mechanical components. The LST system software includes a simulation model that enables rapid and accurate determination of the optimal texturing settings for a given application. The result is reduced friction between mating rings of mechanical seals by more than 70%.
