Search Tips

To use the PetroPages Search Engine, click in the search box and type a set of words. Use the drop down list at the right of the screen to search for "any of the words" you type or search for "all of the words." You may choose to perform your search on one of three different types of pages on this site by clicking one of the three submit buttons, 'Product,' 'Supplier,' or 'All of PetroPages.' "Products" will allow you to locate a type of product and from there a list of suppliers that provide that product or service. If you are looking for a specific supplier, you may search the "Suppliers" pages. Finally, you may search All Products and Suppliers listed on PetroPages by clicking the "All of PetroPages" search button. After you perform your search, you will be provided a list of search results pages that include your search string. Click on the hyperlink of the page you are interested in to jump to it.

For advanced searches, try any of the following.

1. To easily match any or all of the words you type in the search box, use the drop down list to the right, selecting either "All the Terms" or "Any of the Terms," accordingly.
 
2. Another way to match every item, use and. For example: Pressure and Vessels
 
3. Another way to match any item, use or. For example: Vessels or ASME or Stainless is the same as Vessels ASME Stainless.
 
4. To exclude an item, use not. For example: Plastic and Pipe not Metal
 
5.To find closely spelled items, use the asterisk wildcard. For example: Plates, Plating, Plated would use Plat*
 
6. Compound matches are possible with parenthesis separating each statement. For example (Pressure and ASME) or (Stainless and Vessel)

7. Order of Evaluation is left to right. For example: Oil not gas and pump retrieves Oil and pump while Oil not (gas and pump) retrieves oil but neither gas nor pump.
